WAKTU
Ludwig Tieck

Dia ngembara dalam lingkaran abadi dan sama,
Sang waktu, menurut caranya yang lama,
Atas perjalanannya, tuli dan buta;
Anak manusia yang tak malu-malu
Mengharap dari saat yang datang senantiasa
Bahagia yang tak terduga dan aneh-baru,
Matahari pergi dan kembali lagi,
Bulan datang dan malam pun turun,
Jam-jam bermuara di minggu-minggu,
Minggu-minggu membawa musim-musim.
Dari luar tak ada yang membarui diri,
Dalam dirimu kaupikul waktu yang berganti-ganti,
Hanya dalam dirimu peristiwa dan bahagia.

TIME
By Ludwig Tieck

He wandered in the eternal and the same circle,
The time, according to its old way,
On its journey, deaf and blind;
Human beings who do not shy
to expect from the moment that comes and always
Be unexpected happy and strange-new,
The sun was gone and back again,
The moon came and the night was falling,
The hours end in the weeks,
The weeks bring the seasons.
From the outside there’s nothing self-renewing,
inside of you, you carry the time changes,
only in you the events and happiness.

[Quoted from the book “Malam Biru di Berlin” (Blue Night in Berlin), translated by Berthold Damshäuser and Ramadhan KH, 1989, which is retranslated into English would be more or less like above]. And, now allowed me to interpret it in every line of the poetry above:

The forging every day life seemed everlasting odyssey skinning the sheaths of the destiny of soul. Peels layers of light, sheet to sheet without end and was always fascinated. The pain and also disappointed was not felt, over there enjoyed immeasurable grace. Rotated in the same circle, but increasing or decreasing. Kept surrounding the weight and the light too, opened space was not considered and also missed, improved conviction he believes.

Character and ancient times was explored like a dark tunnel with no light, everything was covered by secret shadow. That cave was so slippery with rocks, if not be careful, the wounds would be bleeding. But, he did it while he was feeling the reflection of falling water into bodies, became a distance of the valuation of steps were still far away from designation.

The long journey was deafening memories and blinded fantasy, his breath breathed fast like the horse with typhoon blown by embers of becoming. As if there is no location of the dismissal, the entire burdens was matured by strong willing to unite the possibility of certainty is reached, declared to what should be hold tight.

He released the shame with the sweat of heavily seriousness to study to the more focused space-time like in a cocoon. When increased the motion, the air of youth reverberated and withdrew anything breathtaking freshness. Suppose awakes from the oldest awareness to break the signs of times.

With the hope that the wrapping of mystery decreased until what had been expected was blooming from the fog of longing. A smile came and it was so shiny to be seen, kissed by the cool of dew pervading the pores of birth. Until the singing of love could not stop to comfort what was surrounding the sight. Testimony was so perfect such as a solemn song blushed veil of the blessing of love.

The happiness was so strange because of long waiting made the body felt awkward but not scared, agape to what had been craved suddenly arrive. The colors of any voice were so familiar after the blind of fantasy and also the deafness of the past. All raised up by the music of wind to motivate the feelings of the young musician in nature of everlasting to drain tears and to trill the beginning of the meeting.

The sun goes to the horizon of twilight to reach the night fully stars. Like the beautiful black hair looses prettily like the waving water and curved like a ring of rainbow surrounds the full moon. It keeps charming the eyes without any chance to eye blink. The nice amazement of time rotation perfected the comfort days to answer the body of spirit. The free air sped through the fontanel blessed by the light of life.
When the moon came, the night in his chest was shimmering, and down to interpret the night singing blaring into the deepest heart. Meant by night-day fully devotion beyond the attention. Carefully read each line to perpetuate the values is destined, hunched to ensure presumption from thousands questions answered slowly.

The hours went along the river with tunes up and down followed to the rhythm determined by the fate. Stones and broken stems fall to remember the dismissal, although the concave of moment was a moment. Lift leaves of the brown past delivered to the edge where the trees still upright in front.

The week to the weeks brings the news of the season changing matured the inner. The changes sprinkled the pistil of flowers to greet the world with an overall sense have beats of the universe of meaning, on the repertory infiltrated the whole joints of soul. While the heart was like soil, the heart is pumping air.
Anyone who saw his body looks normal or it would be wrong if the approach is based on the appearances. Especially when older, reasoning will be decreased and be more indistinctly creating the circle of absent-minded. Unless his heart would like to contemplate to sweep the mistaken by carelessness, get on the knees at the corner to gather and to unite pieces of whacked destiny.

Inside of him was too heavy to carry burden of age, if incapable to deal the problems to be fragrant smelled. Continued with the dawn comes repeatedly with its staring that always amazed to the colors of the painting of life. He learnt it fully concentrated to be eternal, someday the voice from far away will challenge from the scope of the nowadays.

In the depths of him grief and happiness flows beautifully such as the poems written at the right time, wakens the whole human being at the time missed it arriving. It will not be replaced even though the pain worth it, because he was shaded by the most eastern light of the opening of the universe.
