Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky (March 9, 1839 – March 16, 1881) is one of the Russian composers who is known as the Five (five companions; Rimsky-Korsakov, Balakirev, Moussorgsky, César Cui, Borodin), is the innovator of Russian music of romantic period.
